What is [bd]?

Binary Deli was formed in 2001 and comprised of Heroine4Life, Re3x, and Big Buddha; even at these beginning stages, “Deli” (the original name), functioned as a group where players would be able to multi-game together (Starcraft, Diablo 2, and Counter Strike). In 2007 “Deli” made a comeback and surged in Dystopia, a free half-life 2 mod, under the name, “Binary Deli” [bd].

After acquiring a few more players, [bd] took their first attempt at competitive play by joining the Dystopia Global League, DGL. At this point [bd] offered its user base a ventrillo server, website, forum, and a game server all free of charge. Currently members of [bd] play a multitude of games together, ranging from new indie releases to main stream games. We also have social game nights where as a group we play a specific game and have game prizes!

Current teams

Currently [bd] has a two competitive teams. The first in Dystopia with [bd]tehMati in charge, and [bd]Heroine4Life leading the Bad Company 2 Team and social events. Currently we also have a core group and guild in Warhammer Online. We are always looking to grow, so if you want to lead your own team, just apply and we will help you get setup. This can help offset a lot of the costs like a game server, forum, and ventrillo that we will provide!

Who and Why join?

Most games now boast a multiplayer or coop feature to their game. While playing with strangers can be rewarding, it can be more enjoyable to play with people you know and to talk to them on a regular basis. So if you enjoy playing games with others either casually or competitively, enjoy an environment where members play games with each other and aren’t expected to follow complex rules, while still offering a 18+ attitude then [bd] may be the right place for you. To become a member simply click on the "Apply" button at the top and you are on your way.

(Though it is not a requirement, it is advised that you join the social aspect before applying for a specific team. This way team leaders and players are able to play with you on a more regular basis.)

 Once you have applied make sure to make a forum account. Applicants have there account upgraded to view special events. There is a month trial period after your application where we can decide to get rid of you.

Ventrilo

Ventrilo Info

Currently Binary Deli provides use of a Ventrilo server, a Voice over IP (VoIP) program, to allow for high voice quality, rapid, out of game communication. As of 7-20-09 Binary Deli will open the doors to its server and allow all to join us. To connect to the server download the Ventrilo application at http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php and use the server information below to connect.

  • Hostname/IP: sprint.typefrag.com
  • Port Number: 26349
  • Password: binarydeli

While on our server please follow the rules, or you will find yourself quickly banned.

  1. No Eating food on the Mic
  2. No bodily sounds on the Mic (burping farting)
  3. Respect all others
  4. Treat all Binary Deli members as admin
  5. Do not disrupt others, use appropriate channels

You may find that people on the Ventrillo server all sound differently in volume. One step that you can take to correct this is to have a Voice Compressor. This will make people who yell and people who whisper of the same volume.

  1. Click on Setup
  2. On the Voice tab click on SFX button at the top right
  3. On the right side click on Compressor then the Add button
  4. User the following settings
  5. Gain 15, Attack 0.01, Release 500, Threshold -30, Ratio 100.0, Pre-Delay 4.0
